Mahi and Marlin

Date: Sat, September 25th 2010

Location: Offshore from Oregon Inlet

Ashton’s mahi on Saturday.  We had 4 whites and 1 blue in the spread at the same time and could not get them to bite.  Ashton was reeling in a small blackfin tuna and the blue actually hit the tuna with it’s bill and then swam away.  We were waiting on Ashton to go for a ride or catch the fish of his life.  Not sure what happened on that, but we are probably thankful that the marlin did not eat the tuna.  225 to 250lb blue on a TLD 25 would have been fun…..just not sure of how long the fun would have lasted.
