Colington Crab Classic & Soft Shell Showdown
Colington Crab Classic and Soft Shell Showdown will debut on May 14, 2011 from 3 pm until 7 pm. The outdoor event will feature crab shedder tours, soft shell and crabcake dinners, crab art, story telling, children’s activities and the competitive highlight of the day: the Soft Shell Showdown.
The showdown will feature a team of chefs from the Outer Banks and a team from Hampton Roads who will showcase the soft shell blue crab as an appetizer, an entrée and as a dessert.
Team Outer Banks….. Captain: Chef Amy Huggins, Chef Pok Choeichom of the Outer Banks Brewing Station, Chef Bud Gruninger of Lone Cedar Cafe and Chef Dan Lewis of Coastal Provisions Market. Team Hampton Roads….. Captain: Foodie Extraodinaire Patrick Evans-Hylton is bringing Chef Rodney Einhorn from Terrapin, Chef Michael Farrell from Still and Chef Chad Martin of Circa 1918!
